u256 USB Ultrasound Microphone
2,300 kr excl VAT
The u256 sets a new standard for USB microphones offering excellent sensitivity, low noise, small size and ultra-low power consumption – all for a modest price. The components are housed in a slim and durable aluminium enclosure.
Like the well-known Pettersson M500-384 microphone, the u-series microphones identify as standard audio recording devices on Windows, OS X, Android, iOS and Linux. Likewise, they are compatible with most common sound recording apps and programs. Our microphones are of course compatible with our own BatSound and BatSound Touch software (for Windows). Some other recommended software for various operating systems include Audacity (Windows, macOS, Linux), Ultrasonic Analyzer (iOS) and Bat Recorder (Android). For information about the specifications and availability of these, please refer to the respective software developer.
The Bat Recorder app for Android devices is available both in a paid version and a free version for the Pettersson u256 (works also with the M500-384 and the u384). Download the installation file here (select “Special Pettersson Version”): www.digitalbiology.com/BatRecorder-Downloads/
More information about the Bat Recorder app can be found here: www.digitalbiology.com/BatRecorder
Please verify the hardware/software compatibility and that 256 kHz recording is supported. Certain smartphones/tablets – particularly low-end devices – have been found not to support USB audio at 256 kHz.
The USB connector on the u256 plugs directly into a type C jack, becoming a small and portable recording unit. In order to connect the u256 to devices with other types of USB jacks or when space constraints make it difficult to plug the u256 directly into the USB jack, an optional extension cable and/or adapter can be used (not included).
Please note that the smartphone in the picture is only shown as reference and is not included with the u256.
